This writing table was built based on an Interior Designer’s idea for her client’s reading room renovation. The simple design with the classic shaker tapered legs and single center drawer gives this table a light but functional look.

Made from poplar, it measures 42” L x 18” W x 29” H. Traditional mortis and tenon joinery holds it all together and to assure the top can expand and contract freely, wooden blocks ride in a track in the side rails while still holding the top tight to the leg assemblies.

The color choice was Benjamin-Moore with two coats of primer. All other surfaces coated with a clear sealer. All finishes were sprayed on.

The interior designer selected the hardware.
