Split Coffee table

Here’s a piece of furniture with a “split personality”. This client wanted a coffee table that was long enough to be place in front of a sofa, but with the ability to be spit apart and moved around the room to fit their particular needs. They also wanted storage drawers that could open from both sides.

The design incorporated a table top with matching grain and color, which carried across from one section to the other to give the appearance of a single unit when placed side by side. Maple was the choice of wood, finished with only a clear-coat at the client’s request. When together, the unit measures 72”l x 18”w x 16”h. Drawers measure 30”l x 14”d x 6”h with dovetail joinery. Client chose the hardware.
