Here’s a solution to eliminating a closet that was no longer functional, but without sacrificing storage space. The opened door to the original closet was constantly in the way to those sitting at this dining room table and items stored were difficult to find. In addition, the client had nowhere to display their collection of fine china, since the other display cabinets in the house where filled.

A more efficient unit would be storage drawers, a place for serving platters and a glassed- in area for display purposes.

This unit was designed to fit the period of the home, as well as matching the other original built-in units in the adjacent room. Duplicating design features and hardware in this unit, along with matching millwork make it indiscernible from the other units and gives the appearance of always being an original to the home.
